Candle Care
QN2 OBJECT candles are functional objects that operate through controlled combustion. Proper use is essential for performance, longevity, and safety.
Please read the following care guidelines before use.
Before First Use
-
Remove all packaging materials before lighting.
-
Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant, level surface.
-
Ensure the candle is positioned away from drafts, vents, or open windows.
-
Keep the candle at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from flammable materials.
-
Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) before lighting.
Proper preparation ensures an even melt and controlled burn behavior.
Burn Guidelines
First Burn
-
Allow the candle to burn until the entire surface of wax has melted.
-
This may take 2–4 hours, depending on candle size.
-
An incomplete melt pool may cause tunneling in subsequent burns.
Subsequent Burns
-
Burn the candle for no longer than 4 hours at a time.
-
Always allow the wax to re-solidify completely before relighting.
-
Trim the wick before each use to maintain a clean flame.
Wick Care
-
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch (6 mm) before each burn.
-
Remove any carbon buildup (“mushrooming”) if present.
-
A properly trimmed wick:
-
Reduces smoke
-
Improves scent performance
-
Extends candle life
-
Never allow wick trimmings or debris to remain in the wax.
During Use
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
-
Keep away from children and pets.
-
Do not move the candle while lit or while wax is molten.
-
If the flame becomes excessively high or flickers continuously, extinguish the candle and allow it to cool before relighting.
The container may become warm during use. Handle only after cooling.
Extinguishing the Candle
-
Extinguish the flame gently using a candle snuffer or wick dipper.
-
Avoid blowing directly into the candle, as this may cause wax splatter or smoke.
-
Ensure the wick is upright and centered after extinguishing.
Allow the candle to cool fully before covering or relocating.
Wax Behavior & Natural Variations
QN2 OBJECT candles are made with natural waxes.
As a result:
-
Color variation may occur
-
Surface texture may change over time
-
Frosting or crystallization may appear
These characteristics are normal and do not affect performance or safety.
Container & Heat Awareness
-
Do not allow the candle to burn when less than 1/2 inch (12 mm) of wax remains.
-
Discontinue use if the container shows signs of damage.
-
Do not place a lid or cover on the candle while it is burning or hot.
After the candle has finished its usable life, allow all residue to cool before handling.
Use With Additional Materials
If your candle includes decorative elements (such as mineral or salt components):
-
Do not add oils, liquids, or foreign materials to the candle while lit.
-
Do not place combustible materials into the wax pool.
-
Any additional components are intended for ambient or aesthetic interaction only, unless otherwise stated.
Storage
-
Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
-
Prolonged heat exposure may cause wax softening or scent loss.
-
Keep lids on when not in use to minimize dust accumulation.
End of Life
Once wax is depleted:
-
Allow the container to cool completely
-
Remove remaining residue carefully
-
Containers may be repurposed for non-heat applications at the user’s discretion
Final Note
Candles are open-flame objects.
Safe operation depends on attentive and informed use.
By lighting this candle, the user accepts responsibility for following the above care instructions.
